Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has named Kenya’s National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula his “Mutume” in Kenya while expressing support for President William Ruto’s re-election.
In a post attributed to him on X, Muhoozi said he already had enough “Batume” in Uganda and had decided to appoint Wetangula to represent him in Kenya.
He added the phrase “Tunataka Second term,” meaning “We want a second term” in Swahili, in an apparent show of support for Ruto’s bid for another term in office. The message has attracted attention because Wetangula is a senior Kenyan political figure.
However, the post does not establish that he has accepted the appointment or agreed to participate in Ruto’s re-election campaign.
