Kampala International University (KIU) has reportedly introduced strict dress code rules banning miniskirts, sagging trousers, torn clothes, Crocs and bathroom slippers on campus.
Under the reported guidelines, students and staff are expected to dress appropriately when accessing university facilities. Those found wearing prohibited clothing could be denied entry by security officers.
The rules also warn that repeated violations could attract disciplinary action, requiring members of the university community to comply with the institution’s approved dressing standards.

The move has sparked debate about discipline and personal freedom in universities, with some supporting stricter dress codes while others question whether certain clothing restrictions are necessary.
What is your opinion on KIU’s new dress code? Do you support the restrictions, or do you think the university is going too far?
