Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sparked discussion after making a statement linking military service to men’s experiences with women.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Muhoozi wrote, “Men who never served in the army have difficulties with women.”
The statement suggests that, in his view, men who have served in the military may have an advantage when it comes to relationships with women compared to those who have never joined the armed forces.
Muhoozi, who serves as Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, has frequently used social media to share his views on different issues, including leadership, national affairs and personal beliefs.

Military service is often associated with discipline, confidence, teamwork and leadership, qualities that some people believe can influence how individuals approach personal relationships.
However, experiences in relationships vary widely from one person to another, and military service alone does not determine a man’s ability to build or maintain a successful relationship.
Muhoozi’s latest comment is likely to generate different reactions among social media users, particularly those who agree or disagree with the idea that serving in the army affects a man’s experiences with women.
The post adds to the range of personal opinions and observations the army chief has shared online, although he did not provide further details explaining what prompted the statement.
