Police in Nsangi are investigating the murder of businessman Ssekandi Edirisa, 47, who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Manja Cell, Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.
The fatal incident occurred at around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, as Ssekandi returned home from work with his wife and son in a Subaru Forester, registration number UA 401DN.
According to preliminary police information, the family had left their workplace in Kiteemu Trading Centre. However, when they arrived at their home gate, they were reportedly confronted by armed men who opened fire on Ssekandi, killing him instantly before fleeing.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and police have launched investigations to identify and arrest the suspects.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala has appealed to anyone with information that could help investigators to report to the nearest police station as efforts continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
