Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has withdrawn his earlier controversial tweet targeting businessman Odrek Rwabwogo, signalling a possible end to the public confrontation between the two members of the First Family.
In a new message, Muhoozi reassured Ugandans that there was no family crisis and said he would meet his sisters, Natasha and Bishop Patience, to discuss the issues privately.
“I have cancelled my tweet. I shall meet my two sisters Natasha and Bishop Patience to discuss these issues. Ugandans should not be worried. The House of Museveni is well. God bless you all!” Muhoozi said.
The development follows days of tense public exchanges between Muhoozi and Rwabwogo, who is married to President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter, Patience Rwabwogo.

The dispute was linked to concerns surrounding the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID), with Muhoozi questioning aspects of its operations while Rwabwogo defended the organisation.
Tensions rose further following the reported detention of Matthew Bagonza, a PACEID official who works closely with Rwabwogo.
Muhoozi’s decision to delete his earlier post and shift the matter to a family discussion appears to have lowered the temperature, although questions surrounding PACEID and the events that triggered the confrontation remain.
The latest statement has also drawn public attention, with many Ugandans watching closely to see whether the family intervention will bring a lasting end to the highly publicised dispute.
