Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has delivered a bold message to Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, declaring that he is not afraid of him and will not be silenced by threats or intimidation.
Speaking amid growing political tensions surrounding the arrest and detention of former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, the former Kira Municipality MP argued that all leaders, regardless of their position, must remember that power is temporary and subject to constitutional limits.
In a direct challenge to Gen. Muhoozi, Ssemujju said he has faced more powerful generals and political figures before and therefore cannot be intimidated. He insisted that Uganda belongs to its citizens, not individuals or families, and that people have a right to question those in authority.
The outspoken opposition politician warned against treating leadership as a permanent entitlement, saying public office is a responsibility entrusted by the people.
His remarks have sparked debate across the political divide, with supporters praising his courage while critics argue that such confrontational statements risk escalating tensions. As discussion continues, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba had not publicly responded to Ssemujju’s latest comments.
