Former Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has found herself at the center of fresh public debate following claims by Kampala Central MP Muhammad Nsereko regarding her health and relationships with former political allies.Speaking after allegedly visiting Among at her residence, Nsereko claimed that the former Speaker was battling serious health challenges, including a blood clot in one of her legs.
According to him, the condition has caused significant pain, swelling, and mobility difficulties, leaving her physically weakened. The outspoken legislator also alleged that ongoing public scrutiny and investigations have taken an emotional toll on Among, raising concerns about her overall wellbeing.
In a claim that has attracted widespread attention, Nsereko further alleged that several individuals who were once close to Among have distanced themselves from her. He specifically mentioned Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, claiming that he no longer responds to her phone calls.
The allegations have fueled intense discussion on social media, with some Ugandans expressing sympathy for the former Speaker while others have called for caution until the claims are independently verified.
Neither Anita Among nor Thomas Tayebwa had publicly responded to the allegations at the time they gained widespread circulation, leaving many questions unanswered as debate continues over loyalty, friendship, and shifting political alliances
