Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced plans to visit Israel soon, saying he intends to pray at the empty tomb of Jesus Christ.
In a message attributed to him on X, formerly Twitter, Muhoozi wrote: “I shall visit my homeland in Israel soon. I must go and say a prayer at the empty tomb of my God, Jesus Christ. God give victory to Uganda and Israel always.”
The statement highlights Muhoozi’s Christian faith and his expressed support for Uganda-Israel relations. His description of Israel as his homeland has also attracted attention.
The empty tomb is a central symbol of Christianity, representing the belief that Jesus Christ rose from the dead after his crucifixion.
