Former PLU Secretary General Daudi Kabanda has broken his silence following his removal from the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), making explosive claims that internal rivalries within the organisation had become so dangerous that his life was at risk.
Kabanda revealed that he personally asked Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to allow him to step down, saying the atmosphere within the movement had become increasingly hostile.
He alleged that some individuals were using the organisation for personal financial gain and misleading people by promising access to top PLU leaders in exchange for money. In a shocking statement, Kabanda suggested that the fierce competition for influence and power within the movement had reached alarming levels, warning that it could even lead to physical harm.
Although he did not mention specific individuals, he hinted at deep divisions and growing mistrust among members.Following his departure, Gen. Muhoozi announced a major restructuring of the PLU leadership, replacing Kabanda with Tingey County MP Fadil Twalla as Secretary General. The shake-up has sparked fresh debate about the organisation’s internal stability and its future political direction.
