Businessman Africano Nteziyaremye and his wife have reportedly been shot dead by unidentified assailants at their residence in Zindiro Village, Northern Division, Kisoro Municipality, in a shocking incident that has left the local community in mourning.
The couple were attacked shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 17, 2026, as they arrived home in their Toyota pickup truck. According to initial reports, the assailants were travelling on a motorcycle when they opened fire on the vehicle as it approached the home gate.
Nteziyaremye and his wife were reportedly returning home after leaving the businessman’s premises in Kisoro town. The shooting occurred as they approached their residence, turning what should have been an ordinary journey home into a deadly attack.
The businessman operated a major business establishment along Mosque Road, opposite Baby Coach. News of his death alongside his wife has caused concern among relatives, friends and members of the Kisoro business community.
The identities of the attackers remain unknown, and the motive behind the shooting has not yet been established. It is also unclear whether the couple had received any threats before the attack or whether the assailants had followed them from their business premises.
