Former Aruu County MP Odonga Otto has revealed that some people have rewarded him with gifts following his public criticism of Daudi Kabanda, with one person reportedly offering him a cow and another giving him a lunch-hour gift.
In a social media post, Otto expressed surprise at the positive reactions to his exchange with Kabanda, saying he had not realised how many people were happy with his criticism.
“I didn’t know people were very happy 😊 I was dressing the devil in its suit,” Otto wrote.The former legislator’s remarks follow his criticism of Kabanda over comments he described as unacceptable towards veteran politician and Internal Affairs Minister Gen Kahinda Otafiire.
Otto had urged Kabanda to exercise restraint when addressing elders and figures who contributed to Uganda’s political history.Otto also called on people to promote love and peaceful engagement, while maintaining his strong stance in the dispute.

He did not reveal the identities of those who offered him the gifts.The latest post adds to the public exchange between the two politicians, although Kabanda’s response to Otto’s remarks was not immediately available.
