Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor, has vowed to tackle corruption and boost community empowerment during a vibrant tour across Mbarara City on Sunday, November 9, 2025.
Engaging residents at Mbarara Central Market and later rallying youth at Kakyeka Stadium, Hajjat Namyalo called for public support for President Yoweri Museveni’s upcoming term while outlining concrete plans for infrastructural upgrades, anti-corruption measures, and youth-focused initiatives.
At the bustling market, Hajjat Namyalo was greeted by Hon. Tumwine Wilson, NRM Chairman for Mbarara City, and a throng of traders eager to share their grievances. Vendors highlighted heavy monthly fees, including UGX 100,000–200,000 for electricity even when power is out, UGX 21,000 per water unit, and UGX 70,000 in rent. They also demanded direct transfer of Parish Development Model (PDM) funds via mobile money to prevent diversion by intermediaries.
A young trader’s plea captured the mood of many:
> “We are tired of thieves managing our PDM funds. Why can’t the money come straight to our SIM cards?”
Hajjat Namyalo assured them that November and December utility bills would be settled through coordinated efforts with city authorities and Hon. Tumwine. She pledged to escalate unresolved concerns to senior government offices, stressing that:
> “Jajja Museveni’s empowerment agenda leaves no Bazzukulu behind. Corruption and extortion will not be tolerated.”
The ONC Manager then energized thousands of youth at the NRM Cup in Kakyeka Stadium, a sports gala featuring football, volleyball, netball, and cycling among six universities. Organized by Seth Murari, the ONC National Sports Coordinator, the event aimed to combine fitness, talent development, and youth empowerment.
Addressing the crowd, Hajjat Namyalo emphasized that Museveni’s next term would focus on job creation, infrastructure expansion, and a zero-tolerance stance on corruption.
> “We are all tired of thieves. This upcoming Kisanja, there will be no compromises,” she declared.
She encouraged residents to support President Museveni and NRM Woman MP flag bearer Hon. Charity Kibaaju Kamuhanda, praising Kibaaju as “a true Bazzukulu-friendly leader who delivers on empowerment.”
Highlighting sports as a tool for economic opportunity, Hajjat Namyalo announced plans to petition the President to upgrade Kakyeka Stadium to national standards, creating avenues for youth employment and wealth generation.
> “Sports is not just recreation; it is a platform for jobs and prosperity, especially for our young people,” she noted.
Hajjat Namyalo’s tour underscored the ONC’s commitment to grassroots engagement, transparent governance, and inclusive development, reinforcing a vision where communities actively participate in shaping Mbarara City’s future.
