Rwampara District youth leaders have pledged their support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s 2026–2031 presidential bid, following the district’s receipt of UGX 8.9 billion for Parish Development Model (PDM) projects benefiting 29 groups, including youth organizations. The announcement was made by Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) Tukwatanise Musa, who encouraged youth leaders to mobilize support for the president.
On Wednesday, October 14, 2025, the NRM Youth League District Executive and the National Youth Council District Executive held a joint meeting at the NRM District headquarters in Kinoni Town Council to strategize on youth engagement for Museveni’s campaign.
ARDC Musa, the chief guest, emphasized patriotic support over financial incentives, warning that being motivated by money could erode trust from community elders.
“If you mobilize for HE Museveni because of money, it means when another candidate comes with more money, you can easily be swayed. This is risky for youth as it makes elders lose trust in us,” Musa stated.
He also urged youth leaders to actively oppose corruption and stay informed on local affairs. Highlighting government youth empowerment initiatives, Musa noted:
“NRM and President Museveni have released over UGX 8.9 billion to 29 PDM groups, benefiting many young people. For the continuity of this initiative, I encourage you to mobilize for HE Museveni and vote for him overwhelmingly.”
Youth leaders expressed gratitude for Musa’s guidance and praised Museveni for empowering young people. Ian, Vice Chairman of the NRM Youth League, said:
“Musa, you inspire us, and we now have hope that HE Museveni can elevate informed youth to major positions.”
The sentiment in Rwampara reflects strong loyalty to President Museveni, who is seen as having deep and lasting roots in the district, symbolically described as “sowing a mustard seed” for growth and enduring connection.
