Pastor Robert Kayanja has launched a strong criticism of businessman Frank Gashumba, accusing him of repeatedly attacking prominent leaders and religious institutions, including the President, the Katikkiro of Buganda and the Catholic Church.
Speaking during a Wednesday night service at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala, Kayanja said Gashumba’s comments had crossed the line, warning that he would no longer remain silent.
“This man, Frank Gashumba, attacks everything. He attacked the Katikkiro of Buganda and he abused and insulted him. Before that he was abusing the president and we couldn’t say anything,” Kayanja said.
“He has attacked the Catholics. He has lied about me… he attacks and abuses everyone. Enough is enough,” the pastor added, insisting that people needed to speak out against what he described as unacceptable remarks.

The disagreement follows Gashumba’s challenge to pastors who claim to perform miraculous healing, offering Shs200 million before raising the proposed reward to Shs500 million for a preacher who could heal a seriously ill patient under verifiable hospital conditions.
Gashumba maintains that his challenge targets religious leaders he accuses of exploiting vulnerable believers. He has also insisted that he believes in God and Jesus Christ, arguing that his criticism is directed at pastors and prophets he considers fraudulent.
Kayanja, meanwhile, has defended the miracles associated with his ministry, maintaining that they come from God. He has criticised Gashumba’s approach, arguing that his comments go beyond questioning religious practices and disrespect Christianity.
The dispute has now fuelled wider debate about miracle claims, religious accountability and the limits of public criticism of religious leaders, with both men maintaining their positions.
