Police have announced a cash reward of Shillings 60 million for anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the prime suspect in the brutal killings of David Mutaaga and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga.
The couple was found dead at their home in Lugonjo, Entebbe Municipality, on the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2025. Their shocking deaths left the community and the nation in grief and disbelief.
At a press briefing held at police headquarters in Naguru, Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that several arrests have been made in connection with the case. While some individuals were later released, the main suspect remains at large.
Rusoke assured the public that the case is still under active investigation and emphasized that updates will be provided once the prime suspect is apprehended. He also clarified that, contrary to some media reports, the case is far from closed.
The police have guaranteed complete confidentiality for anyone who comes forward with information. Rusoke stressed that the identities of informants will be fully protected, ensuring their safety throughout the investigation.
The decision to increase the reward was approved by CID Director Maj. Tom Magambo Rwabudongo, who is working diligently to bring justice to the victims. “This case has not yet been fully investigated to warrant closure,” Rusoke added.
Authorities are urging anyone with information that could help capture the suspect to come forward. They hope the higher reward, combined with assurances of confidentiality, will encourage the public to assist in solving the shocking double murder.
