City musician Alien Skin and his Fungon crew are facing serious legal trouble following the death of former staff member Namuwaya Wilfred. Authorities have launched a manhunt for Alien Skin and several of his associates as the investigation gains momentum.
According to police, the incident occurred on a Saturday in Kizungu Ndebba village. Sources indicate that Alien Skin allegedly instructed his bodyguard, identified as Musumali, to forcibly bring Namuwaya to the Fungon basement. Police say the staff member had previously left the Fungon team without Alien Skin’s consent.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSS Patrick Onyango explained, “Upon receiving orders, Musumali went to Namuwaya’s home, picked him up, and delivered him to the basement.” Onyango added that Alien Skin reportedly questioned, “Can you discipline him now such that it serves as a lesson to those who wish to leave Fungon without my consent?”
Police allege that Namuwaya was severely beaten in the basement by members of Alien Skin’s team. He was later dumped near his home in Ndebba and rushed to Mulago Hospital by local residents, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
A murder case has been opened under reference number SD/20/09/25 at Ndebba Police Station. Authorities say the case is part of growing concerns over a pattern of alleged violent behavior by Alien Skin toward former Fungon staff.
Onyango warned, “No one has the right to force anybody to stay in their camp. People are free to leave, and this should not be a crime.”
Police have also issued warrants for several Fungon commanders, including Mudogo, Ibra Kabadeya, and Jaguro, who are accused of participating in the assault. All are expected to be arrested and brought before court to face murder charges.
The incident has shocked residents and fans of the music scene, raising questions about the influence and control reportedly exercised by the Fungon team over its members. Legal experts warn that the case could have serious repercussions for Alien Skin, his associates, and the reputation of Uganda’s music industry.
Authorities have urged the public to provide any information that could help locate Alien Skin and the wanted Fungon commanders, as the investigation continues. The case has brought attention to the responsibilities of public figures and the darker side of the entertainment industry.
