Ugandan socialite and influencer Bad Black has made fresh allegations against outspoken commentator Frank Gashumba, claiming that his ongoing attacks on city pastors could be a strategy to obtain money from them. Her remarks have sparked fresh debate about the motives behind Gashumba’s criticism of religious leaders and his campaign against alleged fake miracles.
Speaking during a discussion on TikTok, Bad Black questioned why Gashumba had recently been speaking out against several pastors. She alleged that his criticism was not necessarily driven by a desire to protect believers but could instead be intended to put pressure on religious leaders who have come under public scrutiny.
According to Bad Black, Gashumba’s alleged strategy involves criticising pastors publicly and waiting for them to contact him privately. She suggested that some religious leaders might feel uncomfortable with the negative attention and seek him out in an attempt to resolve their disagreements.
“Frank Gashumba is blackmailing city pastors to receive money from them. It is a strategy he is using to get money from them,” Bad Black claimed, directly questioning the intentions behind his recent statements about religious leaders.

She further alleged that Gashumba believes pastors will eventually approach him and offer him something in return after he publicly criticises them. However, she did not provide independently verified evidence showing that he had demanded or received money from any pastor.
Bad Black’s accusations come after Gashumba spent much of the previous week exchanging criticism with several city pastors, including Pastor Robert Kayanja, over claims surrounding miracle-working and religious practices. Gashumba has portrayed his campaign as an effort to challenge pastors whose claims about performing miracles he questions.
The controversy has now shifted attention towards the intentions of those publicly challenging religious leaders. While Gashumba’s criticism has focused on alleged questionable practices within the church, Bad Black has suggested that financial interests could be influencing his actions. Her claims have added another layer to an already heated public discussion.
So far, Bad Black’s allegations remain unverified, and no response from Gashumba was included in the report. Whether he will address the accusations remains to be seen as the disagreement continues to attract attention on social media and fuel debate about accountability among both religious leaders and their critics.
