Former presidential candidate and National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED) leader Joseph Kabuleta has revised his prediction about the future of President Yoweri Museveni’s political establishment, claiming that major funerals will begin in January 2027.
Speaking on his Morning After podcast, Kabuleta said he had earlier predicted that the Museveni dynasty would be gone by June 2027 but now believes significant developments could begin much earlier.
“I said that by June 2027, the Museveni dynasty will be gone, but now I wish to revise a bit,” Kabuleta said, adding that major funerals would begin in January.
He claimed that the deaths would continue once they started but did not identify the people he was referring to or provide evidence to support his prediction.

Kabuleta described the anticipated developments as good news, linking his interpretation to his Christian beliefs and biblical teachings about the wicked and the righteous.
His remarks come amid ongoing debate about Uganda’s political future and the question of succession after Museveni, who has been in power since 1986.
Museveni’s son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who serves as Chief of Defence Forces, has also featured in succession discussions, with critics raising concerns about the possibility of political power remaining within the president’s family.
However, Kabuleta has not explained how the predicted funerals would lead to the end of Museveni’s political establishment. His revised timeline remains an unverified claim, and it is unclear what developments, if any, will follow his January 2027 prediction.
