Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, the founder of House of Prayer Ministries International, is mourning the death of his father, Aloyzi Bujjingo, who passed away at the remarkable age of 108.
The sad news was announced by Salt TV on Thursday, October 15, 2026, leaving the pastor’s family and loved ones mourning their loss.
According to the announcement, Bujjingo was born in 1918 and lived through more than a century of significant changes in Uganda and beyond. However, the cause and place of his death were not disclosed.
Burial arrangements had not been announced by the time the news was made public, leaving the family yet to communicate further details about the funeral.

Pastor Bugingo previously introduced his parents to his congregation in October 2019 during an Independence prayer night at Namboole Stadium, where he spoke about his upbringing and family background.
He revealed that his parents had lived in Rwanda and that he was born in Masaka, Uganda. He explained that he remained with relatives after his parents returned to Rwanda and spent much of his childhood under the care of his maternal grandparents.
The pastor has previously shared the difficult experiences he faced growing up, including poverty, childhood illnesses, interrupted education and mistreatment while living with relatives. He later moved to Kampala in search of better opportunities.
Despite those challenges, Bugingo built a career in preaching and broadcasting, establishing House of Prayer Ministries International at Canaan Land in Makerere Kikoni, alongside Salt FM and Salt TV. His father’s death marks a painful moment for the pastor and his family as they mourn a man who lived for 108 years.
