Leader of Opposition in Parliament Joel Ssenyonyi has claimed that there is a plan to implicate him in a terrorism-related case, alleging that the move is linked to Chief of Defence Forces Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Speaking publicly and on social media, Ssenyonyi said he had received information suggesting his name could be added to a “terrorism file” connected to cases reportedly being handled in Butambala. He argued that such actions would be part of political pressure against critics of government.
He did not provide evidence for the claim, and no official confirmation has been issued by security agencies or the individuals mentioned.Ssenyonyi maintained that he will not be intimidated, saying he will continue his parliamentary and political work despite alleged pressure.
He also warned that opposition voices often face retaliation when they challenge authority. The allegations have triggered debate, with supporters viewing them as political intimidation, while others have dismissed them as unverified claims. The matter remains unconfirmed.
