A statement circulating on social media and attributed to Muhoozi Kainerugaba has triggered heated debate after it appeared to directly challenge opposition leader Kizza Besigye in a provocative tone.
The alleged post, widely shared on X, quotes Muhoozi telling Besigye to “forget about suing me” and instead suggesting an arm-wrestling challenge, ending with the phrase “Twesange Luzira.” Its authenticity has not been independently verified.
The message comes amid ongoing human rights enforcement proceedings linked to Besigye’s legal efforts involving senior government officials. Prominent lawyer Erias Lukwago has been among those involved in related legal processes.
The circulating remark has divided opinion online—some viewing it as political bravado and humor, while others argue it reflects an increasingly tense tone in Uganda’s public political discourse.
As discussions continue, observers have urged caution, noting that unverified social media posts can quickly escalate political tensions and blur the line between official statements and online content.
