Kasambya County MP Daudi Kabanda has once again taken aim at presidential adviser Odrek Rwabwogo amid the growing dispute over the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID).
Kabanda made the remarks while appealing to Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba to forgive Matthew Bagonza, an aide to Rwabwogo who was reportedly detained by security personnel.
“Afande, just forgive Bagonza. He is a loyal cadre who was misled,” Kabanda wrote on X.
He then turned his attention to Rwabwogo, mocking him over the situation and suggesting that the presidential adviser was now experiencing challenges similar to those faced by ordinary Ugandans.
“Stop fearing scarecrows (waringa). We are all variables. If Rwabwogo and I are bakopi, Rwabwogo is a pro max,” Kabanda said.
The comments come as tensions continue to rise between Muhoozi and Rwabwogo over the future of PACEID. Muhoozi has described the organisation as illegal and said its functions would be taken over by Operation Wealth Creation.
Rwabwogo has rejected the move, arguing that PACEID was created by President Yoweri Museveni and cannot simply be abolished without his involvement.
The dispute intensified following the reported detention of Bagonza, who heads the PACEID secretariat and has worked closely with Rwabwogo.
Rwabwogo has said he contacted security agencies seeking information about Bagonza’s whereabouts but did not receive clear answers.
With the disagreement now attracting public exchanges between prominent figures, Kabanda’s latest remarks are expected to fuel further debate over PACEID, Bagonza’s detention and the growing tensions involving Rwabwogo and Gen Muhoozi.
