Anita Among Thanks Museveni After Reported Release From Restrictions
Former Speaker of Parliament and Bukedea Woman MP Annet Anita Among has thanked President Yoweri Museveni after reports that she had been cleared of restrictions and allowed to resume her activities.
In a message shared on social media, Among expressed gratitude to God for what she described as the restoration of her freedom and thanked President Museveni for extending mercy and forgiveness.
She also praised Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for what she called professionalism during the period she was under restrictions.
Among said she remains committed to serving the people of Bukedea and supporting President Museveni’s leadership.
Her political future had been uncertain after she stepped away from public appearances amid investigations and reports about searches on properties linked to her.
No court case was filed against her, and the latest developments have sparked debate among Ugandans about accountability, justice and how investigations involving senior political figures are handled.
Among is now expected to return to public political activity as she continues her role as a Member of Parliament.
