Popular Ugandan singer David Lutalo has spoken candidly about the importance of resolving paternity issues before it is too late, revealing that he is prepared to use DNA testing to verify any child claimed to be his.
The musician made the remarks during an interview with Spark TV, where he reflected on the ongoing discussions surrounding the estate of the late Paul Kafeero. Lutalo said the situation should serve as a wake-up call for men to settle such matters while they are still alive.
According to the singer, DNA testing should not be viewed as a source of conflict but rather as a means of establishing the truth. He believes that confirming biological relationships can help families avoid unnecessary disagreements in the future.
Lutalo noted that unresolved paternity questions often create confusion when it comes to inheritance and family responsibilities. For that reason, he encouraged men from all backgrounds to embrace transparency and deal with such concerns openly.
Commenting on the controversial exhumation of Kafeero’s remains, Lutalo defended the decision, saying it was necessary to determine the rightful beneficiaries of the late musician’s estate and clear any lingering doubts.
He argued that every child deserves to know the truth about their parentage and that biological children should not be denied what rightfully belongs to them because of unresolved claims.
Drawing from his own experiences, Lutalo revealed that he has encountered people who presented children to him and alleged that he was their father, despite the fact that he had never met their mothers before.
To avoid similar disputes after his passing, the singer declared that any paternity claim connected to him would be verified through DNA testing. He said he wants certainty for his family and peace of mind, ensuring that no questions remain unanswered when it comes to his children and inheritance.
